Funky Tattoo
I remember watching the Edinburgh Tattoo as a child and always felt it was kinda olskool. However it seems that it is was my perception that needed an update. Check out this video of a Swiss drum ensemble showing off ultra-precision and some pretty funky grooves using tuned bass drums, snares and a few other things.

Thanks man. I was deeply amazed too – both by how tight and syncronized they were – on top of being funky and looking cool. They start out a little off-sync, but the last minutes are totally tight. Gotta love those tuned bass drums – imagine how much practice it takes to sync beats like that between five guys.
Yeah, it’s hard to take in. Staggering to even try to consider the practice that goes into that. Must say though, I’m really looking forward to hearing what you’ve done with Underworld and seeing how the designers have used your music. Atmosphere and sound is everything.
